Social Sign In is an authentication method that allows users to sign up for / sign in to Truework with their Google or Microsoft account. This makes it easier for users, as it’s one less password they have to remember. It also makes it easier for organizations to manage access to their team(s), since a user cannot login to a company Google or Microsoft account when they leave the company.
How to use Social Sign In as a New User
Using Social Sign In as a new user is simple. Simply visit the signup page and click “Sign Up with Google” or “Sign Up with Microsoft”, depending on whichever provider you’d like to use. Alternatively, you may visit app.truework.com and click the “Sign In with Google” or “Sign In with Microsoft” button.
Once you’ve signed in, you’ll then always use Google or Microsoft to login to Truework.
How to use Social Sign In as an Existing User
Existing users can convert their Username + Password based Truework accounts into Social Sign In accounts as long as they have a Google or Microsoft account using the same email address. Attempting to sign in with Microsoft or Google with an account that has a different email address will result in creating a new account, which is probably not what you wanted!
To convert your existing account to a Social Sign In account, simply visit app.truework.com/login and click the “Sign In with Google” or “Sign In with Microsoft” button and then ensure that you authorize Truework through the account with a matching email address.
Social Sign In is very convenient, but it does come with a few caveats, listed below:
Encompass users cannot use Social Sign In – doing so will result in not being able to sign in through Encompass.
Once an account has used Social Sign In, it can no longer be accessed via Username + Password. In order to go back to using Username + Password, you must contact support from the email address on the account.
Accounts that belong to a team with SSO (SAML) enabled must login with SAML, Social Sign In is not permitted.
